A Visit from Shaka Sola

Sola Power Throwing Academy

This afternoon we had a throwing expert come and give us some training in preparation for our School Athletics Day next week.  Shaka Sola, from "Sola Power Throwing Academy", came to show us how to throw vortex and quoits.

After demonstrating the techniques Shaka threw a quoit, discus and a vortex and it went for MILES!  Then it was our turn.

Mrs Holmes thought she'd give the men's Olympic weight Shot put a go.

We ended our session with a great tug-o-war competition.  It was all about team work, as well as building up our muscles!

Isabelle the Talented Dancer!

Well done Isabelle- you certainly work really hard to be so amazing.  Thanks for sharing these pics.

How many ways can you make the 'sh' sound?

Well we found there were a lot more ways than we thought.

Maybe there is 9???   We are not sure but have challenged a few other classes to see what they think.

What will we discover?

We loved Mrs Gendall's Creativity story today

CREATIVITY is our value for this term.  Can you make up a creative story from this image?

What do you see?
"In the story we need a....."

Sorry no picture of Sally the clever dog!  Maybe Mr Gendall could bring her to school for us and show us how creative she is???

NZ Shake Out

Everyone, everywhere should know the right action to take before, during and after an earthquake.
Thursday 15 October is the International ShakeOut Day of Action. New Zealand will be the first country to participate this year, at 9:15am!*
We’re aiming to get 1.5 million New Zealanders to sign up to take part – which should also make ours the biggest (per capita) ShakeOut drill in the world!
